The Discovery Center Reaches New Heights!

Monday brought another milestone to the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center – the raising of the Mercury Redstone Rocket! This 92-foot replica of the rocket, which carried Alan Shepard in the Freedom 7 spacecraft to space on May 5, 1961, is Concord’s newest landmark, visible from I-93. 2nd Annual Members & Friends Holiday Party!

Kick off the holiday season with friends and family at the Planetarium’s 2nd Annual Members & Friends Holiday Party!

Enjoy the Planetarium’s holiday show, Season of Lights, ornament making for the kids, a visit from Santa Claus, chorus singing, and Planetarium Educator R.P. Hale on the harpsichord! And by popular demand – the Wright Flyer exhibit will be on display! Telescope viewing will also be provided (weather permitting) after Season of Lights showing.

The Celestial Treasures Gift Shop will be open all evening. Stop by and get your purchase complimentarily gift-wrapped by Planetarium staff!

Little Explorers: Living in Space

What is it like to live in space? Why do astronauts look like they float in space? Learn the answers to these questions and more about living in space, at the next Little Explorers Workshop, Wednesday at 10AM!

For 3-4 year olds, child must be accompanied by an adult who can help the child complete tasks.

$5 child, $5 required adult, $5 each additional child/adult.
